Default Zimbra Outlook connector with Dynamics CRM addin

Hi,
Does anyone have any experience with Dynamics CRM addin for Outlook with Zimbra? Does it work flawless?

I have tested it now and got this error report on email:

A lot of times, these addins create names that we cannot handle. It looks like it is trying to create an Outlook category with the name:

[CRM] Task regarding: Kampanje numero uno

which violates our server's syntax for tag names (which map from Outlook categories). The ":" is what is causing us grief.

Is there a way to get the addin to get rid of the colon?

No, the Dynamics CRM plugin doesn't work specifically because it uses a colon in the category name. Zimbra translates this category name into a tag name where apparently, the colon is not allowed. I'm guessing by fsiegel's response, this is something that can't easily be fixed?

It probably wouldn't be too hard to fix this, but we would have to write some code to do it. We would have to sync the category name to the server without the colon, and then map the category name back to the original one that the addin creates.

If there is a way that the addin could create different category names (without the colon), that would be best, but if not, it is possible for us to support this.

Default plug-in without colon

Well, if I had control over the plug-in, I would certainly remove the colon. However, we're depending on Microsoft to do this (plug-in is closed source). Since it already works with Exchange, do you think that they will change something like this so that it will work with a competitive mail server? Unless you can write the code to change Zimbra's behavior, I would think that Dymanics CRM will remain not compatible with Zimbra.

Hi again. The Dynamics CRM addin is very important for us as a zimbra service provider. We have a large customerbase that's dependent on using Dynamics CRM in daily use. I will vote for the bug and hope that this will be looked into ASAP

Important for us too! Any idea the ETA for this? I may approach MSFT to see if they can fix this from their side, but they move soo slowly...

we'll try very hard to get this in the next release, which is scheduled for this month. Which version of the Outlook connector do you need this in?
