Default Zimbra Connecter + Outlook 2010?

Hi. I've downloaded the technical preview of Office 2010 and wondered if the Zimbra Connector works with that. The installer said you can't run multiple versions of Outlook on the same PC, so I'm trying to see if I can ditch Outlook 2003 for the 2010 version. Thanks.

I gave it a quick try, bit wasn't been able to get it to work. After installing the connector, Outlook 2010 shows Zimbra Collaboration Server as an "Other" server type, but when I select it I get the error "This information service is not installed on your computer."

2010 has a lot of differences, including MAPI 64 bit support, the Exhange Client extension stuff, etc. There's work we have to do to get this working correctly.

I should clarify that I was using the 64-bit version of Office 2010 on Windows 7 x64 when I got the message above. I haven't tried the 32-bit version of Outlook.

Thumbs up

On a Lenovo T61 laptop with Win 7 32-bit installed, I did a fresh install of Office 2010 and got Zimbra Outlook Connector working in a matter of minutes. No issues. It synched up very quickly, too

I wanted to first try it on our test machine, and it all seems to be working fine. Now the 64-bit version might be a different story.

Question

So will an Outlook 2010 compatible connector be released when Office 2010 is officially released? Or, at least, relatively soon after?

Thanks!
