Outlook Connector for Open source Zimbra email server

I want to sychronize my outlook with zimbra like the address book and scheduling calender.
I know that this feature is available in the paid versions of zimbra, but i have to utilize the open source.
Can anyone guide my how to go about it, it will be of great help to me.

As you've already said the sync of Outlook Calendar and Address Book is a feature of NE and it is not available for the OSS version. Have you thought about using the Zimbra Desktop to get the features you want?

Hi...

I have to use only OS Zimbra mail server, i am not using Zimbra Desktop. Can you please tell me how should i start with it or how the sychronization is being done in the NE.
I also saw a sync.txt file in the directory /opt/zimbra/docs, does it have any link with how outlook synchronization is being done with zimbra.
I am just not able to understand the request and response messages given in the file and how they are being called or returned.

You can only use Outlook with the OSS version of Zimbra as an IMAP client - there is no synchronisation for the Calendar or Contacts. If you want those features you'll have to use the NE version and the Outlook Connector.

Can you clarify just one more doubt, if i try to develop synchronization of OS Zimbra with Outlook, will there be any modifications of Zimbra's source code or that functionality can be added all together separately.
