OK.. We fixed this issue (bug 37146), and put the new ZCO 5.0.16.1 on the support portal. So you can download this now, and you should be good to go.

Default Outlook 2007, 0x800c8100

Hi @all,

I installed the new Fix 5.0.16.1 on Outloook 2007 SP2 on WinXP SP3.

My customers noticed a new issue after I applied the update yesterday.
If you open a message in a shared folder and click on "Forward", the message
can not be sent. You receive an error 0x800C8100 (Unknown error).
This does not happen, if you open a plain new message an sent it to the exact same person.

Any ideas on this? Can someone please confirm this issue?

Greetings,

bsn

I'm looking into this. I don't see your exact issue, but I'm having trouble sending the message -- it's getting stuck in the outbox. I need to do more testing on this to determine if this is a related error or not. I also need to test with earlier Outlook versions to see if this is related.

A couple of questions:

1) do you get a popup dialog with the error?
2) what happens if you don't open the message, but just click on it and say forward?

Thanks

Do your users have write access to the shared folder in question, or just read? (I saw problems in earlier versions when clients tried to update read/answered flags without permission.)

The Sending/Receiving Mail Window with the progress bar shows up
and afterwards i get the error message in this window. You often see
this type of error if the pop/imap servers are unavailable.

I can't tell since I am currenty unable to test. I will try to reach
my customer so we can make a test.

Can I fix this by downgrading the Outlook connector? To what version?

Write access. This worked perfectly just bevor I installed 5.0.16.1 Connector. The previous version had trouble with the "UNKOWN" sender problem mentioned in this thread.

Just got that one.

To me it happens when they try to open appointment in shared Resource calendar space. Notification mail never gets send, and error message in Outlook is:

Task 'Zimbra - - Sending' reported error (0x800C8100) : 'Unknown Error 0x800C8100'

Message gets stuck in Outbox folder, and blocks other messages from sending.

Worked without a problem on older connector. Luckily, didn't upgrade them all.

This one is killing us.

Is it possible to downgrade connector to plain old 5.0.16?

There seems to be an issue with the patch for the "Sent Items Unknown" problem. Bug 37908. Do you see this behavior?

I will check on going back to the old 5.0.16 in the meantime.

Yes, that's what happens.

I thought it won't be such a big deal, however, the problem is that they have two physical conference rooms treated as Resources in Zimbra, with shared calendars, and anyone can organize meetings in those rooms. And they do it, several times a day

When they try, mail invitations get stuck, and then they cannot send regular mail, until they delete invitation from Outlook Outbox.

Fortunately, I upgraded just 3-4 connectors before it happened for the first time, so will be able to manage somehow for a day or two.
