Default GAL Problem

I'm having an issue with one user that is using 5.0.10 connector with outlook and the server is 5.0.10. We usually use the open other users mailbox to open a shared calendar. If we try to do that on their machine we get this error:

Zimbra Address Book Error

Failed to find Zimbra Global Address List in address book.

If I go to Tool/Address Book I do see the GAL. I don't get why they are getting this error. Anyone have any idea how to fix this problem?

Thanks!

Hi,

along the error described above, I observed the exact same problem as described in this thread:

ZCO 5.0.9 - Outlook 2003 SP3, crash when selecting "Sharing" tab in props

I solved the problem by deinstalling the connector, removing the zdb (and all other files in this directory)
and removing the zimbra outlook profile. Then I reinstalled the connector and did an initial sync
(that took about 3 hours, as the users mailbox was about 1.3GB).
Now everything seems to be working.

It is always the same story on MS systems...
Something is not working. Than you have to deinstall, reconfigure, reinstall, patch, adjust some strange
"registry settings" - and then suddenly it works. You never get an explanation what exactly caused the problem
and what of the actions you took made it go away....
Frustrating - MS is not a bit better that 15 years ago. I will stay on the Linux side...

Regards
Thomas
