Default Private appointments not showing up

Hi,

we realized now that private appointments do not show up in shared calendars in Outlook anymore.
This seems to be after our upgrade to 5.0.8
They show up fine in the web frontend.
Any idea what the reason might be?

Thanks

Christian

The simple answer to that is, the Appointment is private therefore it should not be visible in the shared calendar. As far as I know, they should not be visible in the web client either according to this bug: Bug 25224 – Delegatees should not be able to create/view private events on shared calendars - does the person viewing the calendar have admin rights?

Up to now it used to be visible, but you could only see the date and times no subject no description.
This is exactly how it was all the time, is in the web frontend and with most other applications of this kind.
And it is important, there are some dates I want to have in the calendar and want others to see that I am not availlable but with no detail.
BTW: there is a new button that allows full view of private appointments to other users. So I guess this is here to stay.

We did this on purpose for Outlook. See bug 28753, comment #5.

Why ist this totally turned off. And why is this incosistent between Outlook and web frontend?
We, and some of our customer, need to be able to see private appointments in Outlook.
I guess this might be a reason for some to walk away from Zimbra.
After all this waiting for private appointments they are now basically gone again.
If I want appointments to not show up at all for others I use a secondary calendar.

The reasoning is in Comment 5 of bug 28753

Hi Bill,

I must admit that I see no reasoning why you do not show private appointments at all via ZCO, perhaps I just don't understand it.
I like the possibility to show specific users more info on my private appointments.
But it is really a problem that the others do not see them at all.
Why not just show them like you did up to now?
