Default [SOLVED] ZCO Outlook 2007 outgoing relay denied

Greetings.
We're just testing out Zimbra in hopes to roll it out soon. It was quite a job to get the ZCO working for one user, but it seems to mostly work.

Problem...sending out to email addresses NOT hosted on the zimbra server fails with:

The following recipient(s) cannot be reached:

'dc@thedomainname.com' on 31/05/2008 01:12
554 5.7.1 <dc@thedomainname.com>: Relay access denied

I assume you have correct DNS A & MX records plus the correct /etc/hosts file? If you're behind a router do you have a Split DNS set-up? You should also check your Mynetworks setting.

Hi,

I had a similar problem when adding the IMAP account in Outlook. It would connect and receive emails correctly but when I tried to send an email from the account I got the relay access denied error. I got over this by changing the SMTP to port 587 and security to TLS. I am not sure quite how the server was setup but after these changes the emails went without a problem.

Not sure if thats any help.

David

Thanks for your replies... in this case the issue seems to have been a misunderstanding...
