I know you can use Outlook to check Hotmail but didn't know that you could use POP3. In fact I had heard that MS was going to stop allowing Outlook to check it anyway.

Default A way to setup hotmail on zimbra

I figured out a way but it might spam your zimbra with unread email... Common problem with pop on hotmail. heres the info

the incoming server is: pop3.live.com
fill up the personal information like your email and name and pass
use SSL for the incoming server.
for the outgoing server its kinda tricky.
the SMTP server is : SMTP.live.com
DO NOT USE SSL FOR THE SMTP SERVER.
Here's the tricky part. The SMTP server uses another port. The port is 587.
You have to check username and password required to send mail and then enter your email and pass. This should work
Let me know if it works

I've tried everything on this thread but still get an error: User account authentication failed!

This is what I'm doing when setting up Zimbra, is it correct?

Account Type: POP

Account Name: My.Name
Your Full Name: Full Name
Email Address: My.Name@hotmail.com

User Name: My.Name
Password: Password
Incoming Server: pop3.live.com
Port: 995
Security: SSL

SMTP Server: smtp.live.com
Port: 25 or 587 (tried both)
Security: With SSL or Without SSL (tried both)
Authentication: Use
User Name: My.Name
Password: Password
Name: Full Name
Email Address: My.Name@hotmail.com

Try putting the "@hotmail.com" after the username and see if that works.
