I just had a user send an email to a client 9,000 times. The client isn't very happy. This happened a month ago with a different user as well.

What the user said she did was reply to an email, enter a few lines of text, then click send. After a half hour, she noticed the email was still in the outbox. She exited outlook, then went back in, it still wouldn't go out. She rebooted, then was able to remove the email from the Outbox. Then she had about 500 undeliverable email bounce messages from the client's mail server. (They have some sort of throttling thing.)

I've turned on zimbra connector logging, so if this happens again, I'll get a log. I've informed all users to make sure their outboxes are empty after sending an email.

This is with 6.04 client and server. I've upgraded her client to 6.06. I'll be upgrading the server this weekend to 6.06.

It happend to one of my customers three times the other day. I have now swtched her to the webclient and is going to reinstall her computer.

I had turned on the extended logging so I'm sending the logs in to Zimbra today.

At least one of the emails was a quick respons on another email.

It turned out that I had not created the folder to which I wanted the logger to write to so I had no logs at that time. Today it happend again and now I have the logs and hopefully can someone make somthing of so we can leave this mess behind us.

Default Is there any new information on this case?

Dear Forum,
Is there any any update on this issue?
This happened twice on one of our computers today. Once sending 7000 mails and secondly 300 mails before outlook was shut down.

Best Regards,
Marko Petron

No, there's no update for the simple reason that the last poster with the problem didn't provide any log files with which the issue could be debugged.

If you really do have the same problem then provide some debugging info, you should also search bugzilla to see if any bug report was ever filed or resolved.

Hi!

I had started a supportticket and sent my logs there and did not think about sending them here...

Anyway the problem we had was with outlook 2003 and we have seen it once on outlook 2010 but not a single time with outlook 2007.

It is still a bit scary and I get nervous every time a client calls to say that there is a message stuck in the outbox.

Default Is there a way to limit these ZCO connections ?

Hi,

I've just had the same issue today with one of our customer (5000 mails
sent over ZCO - Release 7.1.2_GA_3268.UBUNTU10_64 UBUNTU10_64 NETWORK edition)

As it seems that this issue seems to stay, is there a way to limit
ZCO connections and incoming messages for users ?

Thanks.
PM.

Zimbra: Why are people still seeing this problem happen after 3 Years of reporting it? Can this not be caught in a QA process?
