Default Blackberry desktop

Having switched two users to the 5.0 initial release of the Outlook connector
when trying to sync their before working blackberry. I get "“Unable to get data from an Outlook or MS Exchange record. Lack of network access to MS Exchange Server can cause this problem. Retry and if the problem persists, please refer to the on-line help to *&*^&*^%*”

Naturally if i had a exchange server I woudn't have Zimbra. unfortunatly between this and the now broken ; to , translation, and the SOAP error when a message exceends the send size limits. I now have a upset client.

Please Help

Please include the details of the configuration. What version of outlook? What version of BlackBerry Desktop Manager? If you are a network customer, you should contact support@zimbra.com.

I'm seeing this as well, we are a 2-week-old installation. I am running:
*Zimbra NE 5.0.4 w/ the latest Outlook Connector
* BDM 4.3.0.17
* Vista SP1 Ultimate 64-bit
* Outlook 2007 SP1

At first I was seeing the "Unable to get data" aka "Internal Error #4238" bug (popular on Google). Always happens at the same place, when synchronizing the calendar. Every few days I would have to remove my Intellisync profile.
Now BDM just crashes when reading the Outlook Calendar.

I thought it was just me, but I now have another user (XP + Outlook 2003 + BDM 4.2) having the same issues. Always on the Calendar. I'm starting to think that the Zimbra Outlook connector is causing this.

Is anyone else experiencing this? Is the Desktop Redirector still required for Zimbra 5 installs?

Has anyone figured out how to complain to RIM about this without a support contract?

Default Partial solution

I made some headway with solving this one by changing two of my problem categories (Calendar and Addressbook) from 2-way sync to 1-way (Desktop -> Blackberry) sync.

Every time I sync just to add a single contact, I see:
39 Deletions
40 Additions

Which leads me to believe that my Blackberry 7130e is munging the data in such a way that Desktop can't handle. BDM is turning out to be a real PITA for me.

Default Any Progress?

Has there been any progress to this bug? I'm experiencing the same problems as the other users. Here's what I did so far:

1. Remove Blackberry Desktop Manager (BDM) 4.3
2. Remove Zimbra Connector for Outlook (ZCO)
3. Remove Outlook 2007
4. Install BDM 4.3.0.17
5. Install Outlook 2007
6. Sync Blackberry (BB) 8830 with Outlook
7. Reboot, sync BB with Outlook
8. Reboot, sync BB with Outlook
9. Reboot, sync BB with Outlook
10. Reboot, start Outlook 2007, sync BB with Outlook
11. Reboot, start Outlook 2007, sync BB with Outlook
12. Reboot, start Outlook 2007, sync BB with Outlook
*Everything working fine so far
13. Reboot
14. Install ZCO 5.0.3_GA_2101_5.0.2533.3.msi
15. Configure Outlook to use ZCO
16. Configure BDM to sync with Zimbra Profile
17. Start Outlook
18. Sync BB with Outlook
19. Reboot, sync BB with Outlook
*Sync fails with error "Unable to get data from an Outlook or MS Exchange record. Lack of network access to MS Exchange Server can cause this problem. Retry and if the problem persists, please refer to the on-line help topic 'How Do I receive Technical Support'.

I then went through the same process with Outlook 2003 and BDM 4.2 SP2 and got the same results.

If I reset the BDM configuration I can sync a few times the end up with the same error.

This was bug 23762, fixed in 5.0.5, which has been released.
