The dialog box with the error is part of an earlier post in this same thread. I have someone with the exact same error. Not sure what you are looking for beyond that. I have tried everything in the thread "Outlook Sharing no longer available??" and under Bugzilla Bug 18408. I have removed and reinstalled the connector 4.5.9 (build 402). I have run Detect and Repair in outlook.

Still not resolved. Is there anything anyone can recommend?

Couldn't see kilrathi's post until I went looking for my two posts. That resolved the issue for me.

In outlook go to Help -> About -> Disabled Addins
Re-enable the Zimbra sharing addin
Restart outlook

Kilrathi, thanks for your post!

I have one user (and only one out of 60) that has this same problem on an ongoing basis. By ongoing I mean it happens at least 2 or 3 times a week. In fact it is worth talking about if we can go 2 days without dealing with it. I have the routine down:
1. Check Outlook's About box for disabled sharing add-in and re-enable (usually but not always necessary).
2. Check registry for sharing mode and set it to 3 if necessary (usually not needed).
3. Delete the darn outcmd.dat file.
This last step 3 is always needed. Does anybody have any ideas what is going on here? This is (of course) a top-brass email user's problem and she's ready to torch the IT dept because of it.

It looks to me like an Outlook problem that is manifesting itself as a Zimbra error. It looks to her like Zimbra is the trouble. Will Zimbra 5's check for the sharing add-in solve this? It would seem to require a deletion of outcmd.dat as well to be effective.

Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.

Best wishes to all during the holidays.

Bob

The end-user called with a report that the problem happened again. I quickly walked her through enabling the add-on.

I hope this isn't going to be a regular exercise. Is there an open bug on this?

this problem is detected in the 5.0 line.
Our code detects that sharing addin is disabled and tries to enable it.

Default WinWord?

The ".reg" file fix worked for me.

For those of you who are still having issues, I found out on mine that on top of the "outlook.exe" process that needs to be killed sometimes, you may need to do the samething to "Winword.exe" too if that's what you are using as a mail/text editor.

We have had the same issue on but a few workstations after the latest upgrade .. Not sure how it was caused however this fixed it for all of them.

In outlook go to Help -> About -> Disabled Addins
Re-enable the Zimbra sharing addin
Restart outlook

I have 4.5.9 and am having this issue.

I've never had anything in the Disabled addins area.

I've reset the reg to value '3' and that solves the problem.

BUT... whenever the user restarts the box, the same issue happens again, but the reg STILL says '3' in the value.

/shrug

When is 5 coming out?
