Default Outlook 2007 Beta error
Every once in a while, I get an error message while doing nothing that says

"The settings for connecting to the Zimbra server may be incorrect. Please verify that they are correct. A common cause of this error is an incorrect value for Use Secure Connection. Outlook will be set to Offline Mode."

Outlook is then placed in offline mode. If I close Outlook and reopen it, everything works ok. It seems to be an intermittent issue that doesn't happen at a particular time. It is happening to me and one of my users that's testing the plugin. We are both running Windows XP Pro. Here are the settings of our Zimbra server. The only thing that I can think of is that we're running the secure connection on an abnormal port.

ZCS Server - Release 4.5.7_GA_1319.RHEL4_20070914153721 RHEL4 NETWORK edition
Use Secure Connection - YES
Secure Port - 4443
Using IE proxy settings - There is no proxy server being used

Any ideas?

Can you look in your mailbox.log to see if it's trowing any sort of error in there?

this is the only error that I'm seeing in the mailbox.log file around that time. It happened to me for the first time yesterday, then again this morning. I didn't think anything much of it until my other user who is testing ZCO as well let me know that he had the same issue at the exact same time. As far as I know, nothing is going on with the server at that time (specific jobs).

This looks like errors from the web client code, but I haven't logged in to the web client in a week. My tester is user1, and I'm user2. User1 was connected to the local network at the time, and I was connected from home.

what happens if you manually configure the proxy settings instead of using the default IE settings?

anyone ever find an answer on this? I have about 6 users that get this all the time. this is in addition to the ????? in the from box and the foreign characters in the users profile. All with 5.0 beta 3 on vista and xp. Just hoping there may be a quick fix to this prob....

The ????? in the from box and the foreign characters in the users profile was bug 19089 which was fixed in Beta4.

unfortunetly beta 4 is still not released as you and i have discussed on other threads.... either way i was just checking to see if there is any updates to this problem
