Error Installing Outlook Connector

I've run into an error installing the connector.
I'm using ZimbraOlkConnector-4.5.6_GA_1023_4.5.288.msi on Windows XP / Outlook 2007

The installer goes most of the way through and then terminates with "The installer was interrupted before ZCS Connector for Outlook could be installed."

I ran the installer with msiexec ZimbraOlk... /l log.txt
Notice that it fails while creating the default Zimbra profile.

but my MAPISVC file seems fine, I tried a file from another (working) machine to no avail.

I also noticed this bug
Bug 18635 - Connector installation failed.
which references the same problem, so I downloaded and installed
ZimbraOlkConnector-4.5.7_GA_1140_4.5.324.msi
and got the same result.

This error (80040605) is MAPI_E_NOT_INITIALIZED. Is it possible you have old versions of dlls like MSMAPI32.DLL? Just curious -- what is the version of that file (in same directory as MAPISVC.INF)

It seems that is maybe new installer bug. Fill free to fill it.
The problem is Outlook 2007.
I suppose that installer fails to load provider dll and cannot configure the MAPI service.
Try to workaround this issue adding
C:\Program Files\Common Files\SYSTEM\MSMAPI\1033\
directory to the environment PATH variable.

Thanks for the path variable idea, it actually made a difference, though the install still doesn't complete.

Now the error is

I googled for that and apparently its MAPI_E_UNCONFIGURED, which unfortunately gave me no clues.

I don't know if it helps, but I am now able to manually setup an Outlook profile with the zimbra connector, though as soon as I try to do a Send/Receive it fails with
'Zimbra - Sending and Receiving' reported error (0x8004010F): 'The operation failed. An object cannot be found.'

I'll gladly file a bug if that will help, though I'm not familiar with the process. Can you point me in the right direction?

Installing keeps failing, and the system is Outlook2007/XP, I have requested the install logs from the user and I'll upload it once I have gotten it.

Also, Its impossible to install the connector from scratch, meaning previous connector has been uninstalled.
But, if you update the old connector with the new connector, it then installs, but keeps crashing Outlook.

Here are two logs created from msiexec

The "First Log" is the interrupted error, which forces you to close the installer

The "Second Log" is re-running the connector which allows for a repair installation, this closes with no error's and a "Successfull install" but the connecter still does not appear to be installed.
