Trouble adding users to BES

Hi,
I have tried just about every option I could find on the forums, google etc.

The environment is as follows:
Zimbra:
Release 6.0.8_GA_2661.RHEL5_64_20100824100342 CentOS5_64 NETWORK edition. ( It should be noted that this is a trial, if that may make a difference?)

BES Xpress 5.0.3

Windows server 2008 STD

mail mode is set to "both"
So here is the issue:

I have everything set up, proper mapi, bes connector, outlook 2007 sp2.

the GAL syncs, but I do not see it in any of the profiles (blackberry manager, etc)

when I try to add a user to the BAS I receive an error that it cannot find the information I am searching for (paraphrasing a bit).

Does any one have any suggestions?
