Default BESx Storage Requirements

I've been reviewing the BES Guide Book provided by Zimbra and the storage requirements for BESx suggests a 500GB volume. Can anyone shed light on why so much storage space is required on the BES server?

Depending on how many days you plan to cache the users mailbox will determine about how much you need. I currently have 22 users on my BES with 60 day cache and I am using 25GB out of a 40GB drive. Small drives because my machine is a Virtual Machine in VMware ESXi 4.1 over iSCSI. Drive usage % fluctuates plus or minus 5GB over time.
