Default [SOLVED] BES Install problems

Hi, have installed the latest ZCB version as desribed in the install guide. Not problems so far. Then I started the BES installation and come to a point which is not discribed in the install guide --> Mapi Settings. No matter what I ehter in this fields, the system writes me everytime back "The setup application could not contact the Microsoft Exchange Server(R) to check the name of the mailbox.". And sometimes the install app crashes.

Does anyone know what should be entered her? The profiles, which should be created before the BES installation starts, were created successfully.

Need urgent help.

thanks

/Alex

This is straight out of the Admin Guide:
Code:
MAPI Settings and MAPI Libraries Error Messages
Ignore error messages the installer generates regarding the MAPI Settings
and/or MAPI libraries being used, as shown in the following screens. ZCB
uses a client-side MAPI, which is a different version than the server MAPI BES
5.x uses.

- at first we don't have an AD installed in the zimbra environment ...
- I have tried multiple times fqdn:7010 followed by the besadmin@domain.com, but the following happens: either the bes installation crashes or the BES installation give me back the error message, that the system can't contact the Exchange Server.

The port is 7071 not 7010. You probably need to setup AD on the BES machine as per the instructions to get past the installation requirements.

You are right with port 7071. But I have promoted to BES to DC and then it worked.
