Well its July here and I am eager for Bes Express support. Though frankly I am still telling my customers to abandon blackberries in favour of iphones or androids (the htc desire is amazing)

That is why I was asking.
I am getting a big push from high up in the organisation to replace Zimbra with exchange, just because BESx is free (or at least the ms lovers are using that to try and convince everyone)

I get that all the time, but its easier to find flaws with MS products, it makes the playing field more even, even without BESx Support at this time.

Heya all Think this will be my first post on the forum

Since my client has a blackberry and zimbra mailserver - outlook 2007 with ZCO 6.0.7 connector environment, and he is getting intellisync errors while trying to synchronize his BB, we got the idea of trying to install a BESx 5.0 and try to synchronise through this way.

This is my status:
- I installed Outlook 2007 and the ZCO 6.0.6 on the server
- I made 2 profiles (BlackBerryServer and BlackBerryManager) wich made me able to pass that option to make them.
- I got to the installation and reboot
- Entering my CAL key, SRP host and SRP authentication information wich verify succesfully, when pressing next, i get the option of selecting an Adress Book, where i choose for the GAL adress list.

When i next press Close, i receive:
- 1st: The (BlackBerryServer) profile is invalid due to missing or invalid property tags. Ensure the specified profile information is valid and unique.
- 2nd: The MAPI subsystem cannot be correctly initialized and used. Please make sure MAPI is installed and configured properly.

My MAPI information that is installed (mapi32.dll):
- File description: Extended MAPI 1.0 for Windows NT
- Type: Application Extension
- File version: 1.0.2536.0
- Product version: 6.0.6000.16386
- Date modified: 2/11/2006 11:46

I'm working on Windows Vista machine, Zimbra Collaboration Server v. 6.0.6 and ZCO 6.0.6

I don't think BES will work yet with Zimbra. For our Blackberry users (only a dozen or so, most have moved to iPhones/Android devices) we use Notify Corp's hosted service for synchronizing Blackberries (mail, contacts, calendars) over the air to Zimbra. Its worked well for us.

Zimbra BB Connector 6.0.7 was recently released that simplifies things and removes the requirement for having Outlook running (still needs to be installed).

Requires upgrading to Zimbra 6.0.7 as well.

I don't think BES will work yet with Zimbra.

Uhm, BES most definitely does work with Zimbra, and is required to sync BBs to Zimbra. BES 4.x is currently supported, with progress on supporting BES 5.x. It's only BESx (BES Express) that is not yet supported.

Don't know about BESx, but there's lots of progress on the BES 5.x bug.
