Default Problem moving users between two BES

Hi! I´m kind newbie in this. I´ve broke many BES test installations (and 1 or 2 productive :-s) but now everithing is working fine. BUT I have a question. This is my scenario:

2 BES Enterprise. One is running last ZCB version and is in production. Second one is on testing eviroment. Both share same SQL 2005 DB.

Problem is when I try to move one user from one server to another. I´ve read the hole RIM doc but it still doesn't work.

My BES version is 4.1.6 bundle 170 (SP6 + mr6)

Anyone knows how to solve it???

Thanks!!!

I haven't checked this and beleive that moving of users is currently not supported feature. Just opened new bug 39937 to track the issue.

Please also feel free to look at this thread:

eugener, thanks for your reply.

I've checked your thread, but in my case, I have users in both servers, so if I replace destination registry with the source keys I will lose destination configuration.

Another problem is that destination zdb-idm files are in a customized folder.

Which is the procedure to open a new bug?

Cheers!

kubanoba, "Move User" feature is not currently supported by Zimbra. I opened the bug 39937 to deal with this issue. In the meantime, please feel free to use the following workaround to move user A from BES1 to BES2:

- add user A using BB manager on BES2
- reset activation password for user A on BES2
- enterprise activate BB device

To flip user A back from BES2 to BES1:

- reset activation password for user A on BES1
- enterprise activate BB device

To view/open the bug, please use Bugzilla Main Page. In addition, please keep an eye on bug 39937 for the update on the progress with this issue.

I'll vote for this one - 50 times.

Eugene, how about a bug for not being able to change BES service account passwords (without registry edits)? Or is that an enhancement?

Eugener, I've follow your workaround. It worked fine at point to register user withot problems, BUT when I send user A from BES A to BES B my Adress Book were duplicated. And when I sent user A back to BES B I have figured out that I have all my contact triplicate :-s

So I wipe my BB (for 1000's time) and start again.

If you have any comment or idea, it will be welcome.

Thanks

kubanoba, there are 2 options for solving duplicated contacts problem:

- please wipe device before doing enterprise activation
- or reload duped contacts on device:

While in the Address Book, press the Menu then Options. Type in ‘RSET’ (capital letters) and you'll be able reload your contacts from the server.

Eugener, wipe BB before move user A from BES A to BES B is not an option. BUT your reload address book tip is GREAT!!!

But, you think that in the new ZCB version move user between servers won't require any additional steps (wipe or activate or whatever) ???? If this bug will be solved in the next version, I'll wait for it.

Thanks AGAIN!

Cheers.
