Default [SOLVED] email-address with dot makes problems

when i change a email-adress to firstname.lastname@domain.con bes 4.1 with zcb works not longer. it happened with zcb 5.0.16 and also with the update to 5.0.18

when i move the name back to lastname@domain.com it works

firstname.lastname@domain.com also makes it unpossible to activate an account. the activation e-mail stays in the inbox and is not collected by bes.

when i stop bes and start outlook on this server, the connection to the zimbra-server works and i see the activation e-mail in the inbox of the user from the server within outlook. but bes will not connect to the mailbox and will not sync

as mentioned before lastname@domain.com works firstname.lastname@domain.com not

It should be some sort of configuration issue as both formats work on our internal BES. For instance, it is possible that at the time of activation email address used on enterprise activation screen on device does not match email address that is stored in the GAL. That is why it maybe important to update GAL with new format of email address and then do GAL resync on BES before performing enterprise activation. Please open support case with reference to this post in case if you will experience further problems.

We solved the problem by installing the whole Server for the BES again and carefully followed the install procedure from the realse notes.

now we use the zcb 5.0.18 with bes 4.1.6 mr5 and outlook 2007 sp2 on a windows 2003 server with the latest patches and updates.

everthing works fine with firstname.lastname@server as account name :-)
