Default BES connector update?

Zimbra,

Any ideas when we will be seeing an update to the GA of BES connector ? .. We are still seeing way to many issues of failures and stability to call the current GA release really something other than a continued beta release .. Please update as we really need to get to a point where we can depend on the BES connector to work day in day out without issue just as Zimbra does today.

It's difficult to answer your question as you haven't given any details of your Zimbra release or the ZCB release you're using but you will see an update with Zimbra 6. The ZCB is no longer in beta and has been GA since April this year: Zimbra Integration with BlackBerry Enterprise Server Now Generally Available » Zimbra :: Blog

Thanks for the fast reply .. sorry but I thought GA meant the ONLY release thus far for the ZCB ?? .. As to our Zimbra server its @ 5.16

So back to my question when can we expect an updated BES connector to be released as the current one that is stated to be a GA is still very buggy and can not be considered production quaility in our minds.

Any updates on when some of the many issues with the GA ZCB will be updated to correct some of these issues ? .. Are we to wait until ZCS 6.0GA is released ?

We'll be doing another release of the BES connector in July.

Eugene (writing here because I think the answer might be of interest for other people), how are we suppose to deploy ZCB/BES for more than 50 users?

I found nothing in the documentation about this.
I read in the forum that in order to do this, we should deploy several BES.

But does that mean deploying another BES "alone" (pointing to the same and single ZCB) or does it mean deploying another "everything" (ZCB+BES) ?

The current solution to get over 50 users is to install "everything"(ZCB+BES) on a separate physical machine or vm image. I know that some of the customers are using Vmware to scale up where multiple vm images(each image has ZCB+BES install) reside on the same host as oppose to purchasing multiple hosts. I will also work to add more detailed description on this in ZCB installation doc.

On a seperate note, in the next version of zcb(that is coming out in July) we are planning to support capability to add up to 250 users on one instance of BES under multi agent configuration. This version is in QA right at this moment and will be released once exit criteria is met. It should eliminate necessity to have multiple ZCB+BES installs in order to support up to 250 users.
