Default BES and Proxy

I have a Zimbra BES server, and am about to implement Proxy. But according to the documentation, BES can't connect to a server running Proxy.

How do I add Proxy to my environment and continue to use BES?

* Is it possible to have one mailbox server that is not a proxy target and to point directly at it from the BES server?
* Or simply not use proxy for HTTPS, but still use it for IMAP and POP?

We have bug 33179 opened to track this issue. As a workaround we may suggest to point BES to one of the mailboxes directly. Although it wasn't tested much internally, i know that some of the customers are using this approach.
