Default Zimbra 6.0

If I am reading the Roadmap for 6.0 correctly, it states that 6.0 will "Natively synch emails, contacts, and addressbook in Blackberry".

Does this mean a BES or BPS will no longer be necessary?

If I am reading it correctly, it is really just the GA of the BES connector....so I think the BES server will still be needed. Am I right Zimbra guys?

I think it means that the BES will sync with Zimbra without requiring Outlook in the middle the way it does now. That's the way I read it anyway..

Default BES MAPI connector

Would be nice if there is no more need of the BES connector. Just gives us hard times! ;-)

The full story is : ZCS + Zimbra Mobile + ZCB + BES.
ZCB just got GA (it's not beta anymore) and can be used with 5.0 and 6.0.

If you want to stay in the BB world, it's not possible to get rid of the BES.
So you need to get "something" between ZCS and the BES, that's the ZCB.

However, you can get rid of the BES by using client software on the BB devices, allowing them to sync directly with Zimbra Mobile (AstraSync or NotifySync)...

Somebody can tell us his experience how stable such services are working? I may consider such a solution over BES/BPS as our services fails from time to time (up to twice a week)...
Although, the bad thing is that you neither have the access to the corporate network nor MDS studio anymore :-(

We tried NotifySync but had issues and it took a long time to get an answer from support... So long we switched to AstraSync...

We have a customer with a couple BB running it and they're happy with it.
