Hi @ all!

I tried to install a blackberry mobile download product from the zimbra.com site, but there are only for 8800 (en_US), Curve (en_US), Pearl (en_US) and not for Blackberry Storm.

Thank you for helping me.

Best Regards,

Jimmyg

This is clearly a dead topic but I just come out of the woodwork and chime in, in case more Google searches end here and give people bad information.

I run zimbra.
I do not run Zimbra Connector for anything.
I do not run BES (blackberry enterprise server).

My blackberry storm connects to zimbra just fine, it syncs my email AND my calendar over the internet. I just told it I have an IMAP email account... that was easy.

Hopefully a little pool of info out there in the misinformation wasteland has been formed.

Hi void!

Thanks for answering the thread.

Do you mean a software installed on the blackberry and do a connection, for example every 10min. to check calender, contacts, mails etc...?

Before I using blackberry I had a Nokia e51.

I tipped in the servername and logindatas and every contact, calender, mail etc. was on the nokia and syncron. every minute or 20 min.

Or do you mean the webapplikation using zimbra over the blackberry storm browser?

Best regards,

Jimmy3g

I installed NOTHING on the blackberry.

I am using it's default mail program. It checks my zimbra email and my calendar every few minutes.

I am NOT running any special applications.

I'll have to look at it and see if the contacts are synchronizing too, but I left it at home today. Oops.

Hope this helps ya

In the normal mail application, I only can enter a username and password.

There is no possiblity to write the servername from zimbra and than the logindatas.

How do you solve the problem.

thanks in advance.

best regards, from sunny Vienna.

I am considering buying a Blackberry Storm as well. I need calendar syncing, and I can NOT use a BES server to do it (I will probably connect that to mycompanies Exchange server). Syncing e-mail is easy with IMAP of course, but how would one sync the calendar? My research tells me that there is no CalDAV support in the BlackBerry OS. Contact syncing would be nice too, but I don't think that particular option is available either...

Zimbra Mobile would be a possibility (or even the web based mobile client), but I want to get all my ducks in a row before I make the jump. After all, the iPhone get's CalDAV support in June with the 3.0 update... I need to make a decision.

I just opened the following ports:
Quote:
POP3 over SSL (995)
HTTPS (443)
SMTP (25)
Then went to Logged in add my email account --> specify I will provide the setting entered my server address, email address and password. Now works like a charm, I can now forward my other emails accounts to my one account and get them all on my blackberry. Woot!!!

Eh, not what I'm looking for. First this uses Black Berry's servers, which is a security concern, and second it only syncs email addresses. What I need is CALENDAR syncing with Zimbra, which isn't supported. I haven't seen anything (Except the iPhone) that will do iCal over the net syncing.
