Default Astrasync 2.1.14 is out

Hi,

This version supports Exchange 2003.
I just try this version with ZCS 5.0.11 and it seems to work.
I have not tried all features (Calendar, contacts, GAL...) but with e-mails, it's OK, directpush too.
It's a solution without BES for BB.

Regards,
Daniel.

Does it sync the calendar for you? I haven't been able to sync the calendar.

Hi,
In fact we're doing a comparison with Astrasync and Funambol 7.

The version of Astrasync is 2.1.22 and there are the first results :
Mail : OK
PushMail : OK
Calendar (2way) : OK
Contact : OK
GAL : KO (workaround by insert GAL in contact)
Folders : KO (problem when we classify by rules Zimbra)
Meet an appointment from mail : KO

What is, exactly, your problem with calendar ?

Regards,
Daniel.

Ah, I fixed it. I had my BIS email account setup and at the same time tried to configure my astrasync client at the same time with the same email account.

Now, I'm trying to figure out which is better, astrasync or notifysync. I wish one of these apps could dump emails in the native Blackberry messaging folders, instead of having to open these apps to check email. This is what notifysync support said though:

Unfortunately the internal messaging system on the Blackberry cannot be used as that would be considered a Patent Violation against RIM. Although, one thing that can be done is by moving the NotifySync icon to the top row of icons on the application screen, and depending which profile you're using on the Blackberry, you can have the NotifySync icon appear on the device's home screen.

Default Syncing calendar(s)

AstraSync only syncs with one calendar, the main calendar, right?

Yes, only the main calendar.
