Wink The solution

Stop BES Server

Remove BlackBerryServer.zdb, BlackBerryServer_GAL.idm, BlackBerryServer.idm

Generate BlackBerryServer.zdb via Control Panel > Mail > Select profile BlackBerryServer > Modify account > Ok ...

Launch Outlook with BlackBerryServer profile.

Close & reLaunch BES Server.

Thanks.

this solution will probably cause you to have to reactivate user devices. when you delete the BlackBerryServer profile, you will remove per user meta data that BES stores. if this meta data is gone, it could impact the functionality of your devices.

Please try the following procedure for both 'BlackBerryManager' as well as 'BlackBerryServer' profiles:

- stop BB controller and close BB manager
- install MFCMAPI (or any other MAPI editor)
- In MFCMAPI go to menu 'Session'->'Logon and Display Store Table'
- Choose 'BlackBerryServer' profile
- New window with the list of mailboxes will pop up
- Double click on 'Zimbra-BES Admin' mailbox
- New window with mailbox folder hierarchy will pop up
- Click on 'Global Address List' folder
- List of properties pertinent to above folder will show up
- Modify the following property (see property description below) and assign it empty string value:

Tag: 0x801D001E
Type: PT_STRING8
Named Prop Name: id: 32769=0x8001
Named Prop Guid: {20022104-6842-430D-B19C-8739BFDB9188} = Unknown GUID

- repeat steps above for 'BlackBerryManager' profile
- start BB controller and BB manager

Agent and BB manager will resync GAL afterwards. In case if you have a big GAL, please give it some time for synchronization process to complete. Please note that this solution is temporary and we will be implementing easier and UI friendlier solution as we move towards GA.

Do you have to manually sync the GAL to BES when new addresses are added to the GAL?

Yes, in case if you want to get new GAL contacts synced over immediately. Otherwise you may need to wait for some time until next automatic GAL sync will happen. ZCB is designed to do full GAL resync on a weekly basis(once per week) and it also does GAL delta sync every half an hour.

In addition, starting from ZCB GA we introduced 'Force GAL Sync' button on zcb logging control(zcologctl.exe) that can be used to initiate GAL sync immediately.
