Default [SOLVED] No Calendar Sync on BB

Hi,

I was finally able to setup a BES with ZCB on a W2K3 Machine and activate a BB 7290. Not an easy procedure, but on the first view the important things seem to be working.

But none of my calendar entries have been transfered to the BB. Although wireless calendar syncing is enabled on the BB, not a single cal entry is transfered.

The second problem I observe is, that only mails in my Inbox are redirected to the BB. I can browse the folders on the BB, but all folders (besides the Inbox) are empty.

I am using ZCS 5.0.5 and the ZimbraBESConnector-5.0.0_GA_1862_5.0.2428.msi
There are rumors about more recent version of the connector... Maybe some issuers are fixed?!?

Any hints?

by default BES only redirects your inbox and sent items folders to your device. to change this, you need to change your folder redirection settings for future messages. i don't know if you can "initial sync" the contents of others folders. i would search the BES forums for this because its not a ZCB limitation.

in terms of your calendar not syncing...are you sure that you have wireless calendar reconciliation enabled? this seems like pilot error. double check all of your settings and search on the BES forums for other similar people having this problem. i don't think that this is a ZCB issue either.

On the BES when trying to "Choose Folders for Redirection" I get an POPUP with the Error:
"Failed to retrieve Folder redirection settings for selected user" and tells me about insufficient rights in some MAPI Profile...

Wireless Calendersync is set to "enabled". The BES MAGT Logfile has lots of entries like:

MAPIMailbox::ProcessCalTimes - Unable to retrieve KeyHash calendar entry properties

Could this be a permission problem?

its a known issue that you can't do this from the BB manager...do it from the device.

Bug 22863 – BB: Folder redirection settings not configurable via BB Manager

watch out for this:
Bug 17035 – BB: Folder redirection for non top-level folders may stop working

When checking the subfolders on the BB Device, Mails for this subfolders are synchronised. This seems to work for me now - thanks...

But my calendar problem persists... I triple checked, that wireless calendar sync is enabled (I enabled it on the BB/Handheld
and the BB Manager also says, that it is enabled)
I even tried to resend the Service Books. But with no success. Not a single Calendar entry is being transmitted (in neither direction).

Hi all,

I have done some more tests, including to wipe the device and go through enterprise activation once more.
The result is the same - everything seems to be working except the calendar. Not a single calendar entry on the BB device.
When I try to create a new Cal entry in Zimbra Webfrontend, I get messages in the BES MAGT log:

i've not seen this problem before. you might want to try deleting and readding the user in the BES Manager before wiping the device and reactivating.

Hi Anthony,

I did as you suggested: deleting user from BES, readding the User to BES, wipe Device and then reactivate. The Problem persists...

When trying to add a calendar entry in Zimbra Webfrontend I always get messages in the BES MAGT Log as shown in my last post.

The line:

Code:
[40000] (07/08 09:51:50.828):{0xEF4} {foo@bar.net}-GetAndCheckProperties- Returned Property PR_START_DATETIME is invalid, PR_SOURCE_KEY is 0000000036DAFC5DCBF32248918DB13E2AC4782FE47F2000
is always present and the referenced PR_SOURCE_KEY is always the same (infact it changes when reactivating the device).
Do you think that this message could indicate a problem with one particular calendar entry with some strage/malformed DATE/TIME property?

What could I do to debug that issue?

Regards and Thanks
Thomas

Hi,

I did some more testing. I created a new Zimbra user in the same domain as the Blackberry Admin user.
Just to be sure, that there are no Cal entries. I wiped my BB once more and
reactivated to the new account.

Same result: no Cal sync. The messages in the logs are similar.
When I try to create a Cal entry on the BB Device I get errors like this:
