Default How to BES with out Exchange

Hi all: I am still in the evaluation stage and my bosses have thrown me for a loop. They went out and got BlackBerrys. So now I have to support BlackBerrys, Treos (those may convert to BlackBerrys) and iPhones.
I have a test enviornment here but I can not get BES (Professional) to install.
It is looking for the Exchange System Manager to be installed. As we are currently using Exchange 2000 (I hope to go to Zimbra this summer) I am stuck behind the Microsoft upgrade curve.

How do I install BES with out Exchange? or the Exchange components?

you should sign up for the ZCB (Zimbra Connector for BES) and the docs will guide you to a stand alone CDO/MAPI download that will remove the need for the Exchange Admin tools.

Awsome! I will do so right away.
May I pester you with more questions?
All the Bosses want is control of their mail (send, receive, delete on Outlook and the BlackBerry), open attachments, keep their Calendar updated. Is this how the ZCB makes it all work?

Thanks
Stance

yes...it should work the same way that BES against Exchange works.
keep in mind that this is a BETA release of the software. it should not be put in a production environment and should not be used for mission critical tasks.
