Exclamation BES Problems...

Hey Everyone,

I am having a problem with the BES connector for Zimbra. Here are the two issues.

1. 5305 Error... This started after we did the 5.0.4 upgrade last night so we are toast right now.

2. Even with the GAL set to do ROOT searches we BES won't show any other domains in the address book other than the one that the actual BES admin user is part of. Even though its a full administrator and not just a domain admin.

Ideas?

Thanks!

1. where are you getting this error?
2. if you log in as the admin user on the web client (ZWC), does it show the entire GAL?

Hi Anthony,

1. My business partner Jon is going to answer this question for you in one sec.
2. Yes the entire GAL shows up when using the web client. It even shows up in the ZCB outlook profile. Just not in BES when we go to add users.

Thanks a lot for the help here our customers are getting really bent about the blackberry thing breaking.

Thanks again,
Cyrus

did you open the BlackBerryManager profile? this is the one that is used when you are trying to provision users. BlackBerryServer is used the the BES agent when actually processing mailboxes.

Exclamation Same problem here...

Did the 5.0.4 upgrade and now BES keeps throwing the following error (seen in event viewer):

BlackBerry Messaging Agent XXXXXXXX (hiding name) Agent 1 failed to start. Error code 5305

everything looks ok on Zimbra side - not throwing any errors but on BES logs (MAGT) have following:

Yes all accounts actually show up in both profiles address book in outlook.

Err I lied... In Outlook it only shows the one domain... in the web client it shows the entire GAL. :P Sorry for the confusion

can you let me know what it says in the ZCB logs? please enable http logging, verbose logging and "keep logging" so that multiple, more manageable, log files are created.

Hi Anthony - do you mean the ZCO log program in \Program files\common files\system\msmapi\1033 directory?

yeah...launch that app and you can specify where to generate the logs.
then you'll need to restart the BES agent (blackberry controller service).

Ok, here are the logs - had 11 BB Agent logs - all looked the same, though

Please let me know if you need any other logs.

Thanks!
