Default Tied Down? Go Mobile May 8th!

Looking to work more effectively, unclog your inbox, and always know where you need to be next? If you're still tied to your computer alone, jump into anywhere access with a webinar on Zimbra's broad set of mobility solutions. From free mobile-web access to advanced over-the-air synchronization for smartphones; we have you covered.

Join us Thursday, May 8th, 2008 @ 10am US Pacific Time (-8 GMT) for a presentation by John Robb, Vice President of Products and Marketing, Zimbra.

This webinar will take a deep dive into solutions such as the mobile web-client(s) (yes we have more up our sleeves!), downloadable J2ME applications, and of course native BlackBerry and Windows Mobile smartphone support. The session will feature live demos and also provide time for live Q&A.

Need to sign-up? Head over to the registration page.

The Webinar is powered by Adobe Connect: You can use a Mac, PC, or Linux platform to attend. Audio will be via VoIP so no dial in conference bridge is required.

Can't make the webinar? Be sure to checkout /products/zimbra_mobile.html for information on the many ways to connect.

Doesn't work from the Linux side of things. Using Firefox 2.0.0.14 on Debian Linux 4.0 gives "Cannot connect to enterprise server" errors. Connecting via Firefox 2.0.0.14 on Windows XP does, though. Both stations behind the same firewall. Would be nice to use a more Linux-friendly webinar solution. Adobe Connect is not.

Quite the contrary:
1) Adobe Connect is Flash Based and is compatible with with Linux
2) I moderated the event in Linux(Ubuntu 6) as my Mac was in the Apple shop
3) Yahoo (which uses AC) is a Linux/FreeBSD Shop. They wouldn't have purchased it, had it not been linux compatible.

The only thing that isn't compatible is the addin which allows sharing of files.

Well, this is twice I've signed up for webinars, and twice the Adobe Connect software has failed. Tried from two different Linux stations (Debian 4, Kubuntu 7.10), and get the same results on both: Unable to connect to enterprise server. Even going through the troubleshooted fails at the same stop. Running the latest Flash 9 player on both.

Doing tcptraceroutes to port 1183 on the server works. Watching tcpdump traffic, all the connections from the browser to port 1183 die two hops in front of the server with ICMP TTL expires errors.

Connecting from a Windows station works (but none of the Windows stations here have sound).

Packets take the same route from the Linux stations and the Windows stations. But the connections from the Linux stations die.
