Default Webinar Tools

Wanted to ask the community if there are any webinar tools out there you are particularly fond of; we are currently piloting one with many features we like but also want to find one with better Linux support.

we have asked the vendor and they are not providing Linux in the near term as we had hoped.

any suggestions are much appreciated.

In the mean time we will continue to make content available for those who have trouble joining

Not sure how good they are, but you've got flash-display based (linux compatible) webcam/video distribution here:

kyte.tv

and

operator11.com

Kyte looks better, but I've never used them.

We use Elluminate Live! for online course sessions and presentations. Live eLearning Solution & Collaboration Solution Software

It's a bit more education focused but it's a pure java application that will run on pretty much any platform that supports java webstart applications. It can handle slide shows, VOIP, text chat, desktop sharing, etc. It's available as either software or a hosted solution.

Same problem here. Just wanted to join the "Choosing between Zimbra and Exchange" webinar from my Laptop running Gentoo to find out that the OS is not supported.

I have not had any experiences with web conferencing tools/solutions myself, so I can't give any advice.

Nevertheless I hope that the Zimbra team finds a solution. In the meantime I will have to start up my windows workstation to join your webinars ;-)

Well mate I am using Web Conferencing Appliance, Mac Web Conferencing, Remote support appliance, Remote access appliance turbomeeting right from the time you post this thread..Its all a cakewalk as far as webinar solutions are concerned. More over you can record meeting sessions on the roll plus there haven't been any security breaches..

Coucou Philippe.

You can add there's a zimlet existing for Dimdim and that it's supposed to evolve with ZCS and Dimdim evolutions (unlike the Webbex zimlet).

Smile DimDim + Zimbra

If I were a bettin' man, I'd say that Zimbra has big plans for DimDim based on a few things:
