Why? That's not the standard SSL port and services that connect to it will have problems.

    Ok,

So here is the situation. I can easily connect as POP using generic ports and settings. I can download n send mails. SSL (trust all) port is same as usual 465 and POP 995.

When i connect via Zimbra it doesnt connect. Does my server needs anything for VZA to connect ?

Thnx for ur help again Bill.

Maybe I am missing something, but to answer your question from a few posts back, yes, VZA only works with the Network Edition of Zimbra, out of the box anyway. If you have the FOSS edition take a look at the sticky post in the main Mobility forum call "Z-Push Zimbra Back-end...". If you get this setup it will make your server look like / talk the ActiveSync protocol. It's kind of a pain to go through because all the information you need to set it up in scattered throughout the thread, which is up to 788 posts. But somewhere in the first few pages there is a link to a page that explains the initial setup. It's really pretty easy to setup and configure. The web-site that explains the setup is a bit old / outdated, so you will probably have to scan through the thread to find updated info if you run into problems. User "liverpoolfan" usually posts updates and answers a lot of the questions posted there (there may be other developers / maintainers, but he is the one who sticks out in my mind). If possible, I would recommend setting it up on a separate server from your Zimbra install. That way if you mess something up you won't you won't kill your whole Zimbra setup.

BTW, if you do get it setup and want to run on a non-standard port you can enter your server address something like: mail.somedomain.com:<port>
