Question ZCA Split-DNS setup with Windows Server DNS

I know that Split-DNS has been covered countless times. However, the majority of these discussions have focused on installing and setting up BIND on the Zimbra server. The information has been very helpful and I relied on it when I setup my first Zimbra server.

Now I am looking to deploy the appliance in a virtual Windows environment and I am struggling with Split-DNS. I've got a Windows 2008 R2 virtual machine running Active Directory (with mydomain.com) and DNS (no changes made) in a lab environment. I've deployed the ZCA via OVF, but have not powered on the appliance as I want to get Split-DNS setup correctly.

I understand the concept of Split-DNS, but need practical help. Can someone with Windows Server DNS experience please guide me on how to setup Split-DNS for my Zimbra appliance.

    Thanks in advance

P.S. Perhaps this could be added to the Split-DNS wiki.

The procedure is the same, just add the relevant A & MX records to your AD server and point them to your LAN IP of the ZCA. What exactly is the problem you're encountering?

Well, the concept is the same, but configuring BIND and Windows DNS is quite different. I'm looking for a step by step guide on how to setup the different records in the DNS mmc.

..... erm, no it's not that difficult to do. Go to the DNS Manager msc on the server and create (if you don't have one) a Zone record for the Domain then create the A & MX record them point to your Zimbra server. If anything, using the AD/DNS manager is a doddle and is fully described in the MS Server documentation - it should take you abut three minutes to do.
