External Mail Accounts?
I just completed a test installation of Zimbra as a virtual appliance. Everything seems to work fine, but I am missing the functionality to get mail from external accounts (e.g. Google, POP/IMAP). I found a reference on the web showing me a setup using an account button in Zimbra, but I can't find that button on my installation.
What am I missing?
Thanks,
Jens

You first need to make sure your COS (in the admin console) has "External IMAP access" enabled.
Then you can go to Preferences / Mail / Accounts and you can set up the external account in there.

Which option are you referring to? The "External IMAP access" is in the admin page under Class of Service, and Features. The External Account is then set up within the actual webmail page of the account.
I haven't played with the Appliance yet, but I don't believe those features are stripped out..

I am using the virtual appliance and I don't see that option in the admin web page. Is that the console or is that some place else?
Thanks,
Jens

Here is my admin screen in the appliance. I don't see the option you are talking about. Does that mean that it doesn't exist in the appliance?
Thanks,

I think I found it. It is hiding under the Inbox when you are logged on as a user. :)
However, I don't see the class of service tab you are talking about. Is something wrong with my installation?
Cheers,

Well, I setup an external account, but I am getting a network service error:
Code:
system failure: Synchronization of folder 'Public Folders/Bayesian Learning/Spam' failed, SELECT failed: Access denied
It appears that it is trying to access a hidden folder on my mail server. Unfortunately, I don't see an option to select specific IMAP folders.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Jens
