Default Zimbra Vmware Installation issue

Hello,

I've installed the Zimbra 6.0.7 appliance in a Vmware Server 2.

I login into the administrator account with the username "vmware" and when I try to access the "Zimbra Administration" page I have this error:

What is the problem?

No solution yet!

Although I'm noticing that the "ZimbraDomainStatus" is in the "shutdown" mode. I restart the services/machine several times but I'm unable to change its state to ACTIVE.

(Status is case sensitive)

I had that error yesterday, rebooted the machine and it went away. Not exactly a fix but time will tell if the issue reoccurs.

I tried to restart and services and even reboot the VM several times. Unfortunately, it's pretty much the same!

I believe this might be some bug with this VM version.

I will try to report it.

Default Installation logs?

Thanks for trying out the appliance - I'm sorry you're all having so much trouble. The error you're seeing indicates a failed operation early in the configuration of the appliance, that's breaking the domain creation; possibly related to a network hiccup during install.

Can you all verify the version of the appliance (607_341) and the VM software that you're using? (eg, is everyone seeing this on VMware server v. 2, or is it showing up on ESX/ESXi, etc?)

Lastly, there's a diagnostic link in the toolbar (far right) that will allow you to download the appliance config log.

If you could attach that to the opened bug (https://bugzilla.zimbra.com/show_bug.cgi?id=49890), it would help us to diagnose this. (Mark it private if you don't want your domain info visible in the bug).

If you have run into this problem, try simply removing and re-deploying the VM, and see if it recurs - it may be a transient error. If you try that, please post your results, we're interested in those as well.

My appliance version was 607_341 on ESXi 4.1 however it was transient and had occurred after the server was configured. A reboot removed the problem.

Hello Marc,

Thanks for the reply!

I'm running the appliance in the VmWare Server 2 in a Windows Server 2008.

Another issue....

I tried to reinstall the Appliance twice, but I never passed from here:

Is this Zimbra Appliance (6.0.7) the very first released appliance?
Seems that it has some bugs.
