Default only one AddressGroup in the AddressBook possible ?

Hello,

in the past(other email-products) we are used to have different-
AddressGroups in the "global-email-addressbook". Some users are
stored even in different groups. Users do easily understand that
concept.

1.
As I understand within Zimbra there is only 1 AddressBook possible.
Is that the case?
2.
Are personal distribution lists Zimbra's approach to address that
requirement?
3.
How are personal distribution-list visualized? In the AddressBook or
only if a new mail is written?

Thank's a lot for any feedback!

John

There's a RFE open for a sorted GAL (groups, permissions, etc-search bugzilla)

One GAL per domain (or you can set it to cross domain). This can be a combined GAL of zimbra + external LDAP/AD. You can make as many personal address books as you like.

Contact groups:
new > contact group > find the people you want> save it, and it can be treated like a contact.
ie move it around you addressbook folders etc.

Distribution lists:
At the admin level get, these gropus get assigned an email address. OR You can not allow them to receive email and just use them for sharing cal/docs. OR Do both.
