List everyone in the GAL when clicking TO

Is there a way that all the users in the GAL can be listed when I click To when creating a new mail? I have to type something in there name like "a" and click search for all the users that have an "a" in their name to show up. Users are used to outlook that lists the users just by click the To button. Thank you for your help.

for a little bit faster: you can also type . (period) after you select 'to'
-make sure "Show names fromL Global Address List" is selected on the right.

I did see that after I posted. I'm actually looking at the code to see how hard it would be to select all the users from the GAL when you click TO. If anyone has any pointers let me know.

I assume you mean making the GAL 'browseable' by default.

Because when you said "how hard it would be to select all the users from the GAL when you click TO" it sound's like you mean you just want to send an email to everyone (highlight one, then ctrl-a to highlight them all)
Also depends on how many results you allow it to return...

I think I want the GAL browsable feature.

When I click TO, I want the contacts that are in the selected addressbook or Global Address list to show without me having to search for them. I'm still looking through the code to see if I can fix it without waiting. I'll make sure I post my findings.

the bug was mainly meant for the address book-but the concept is the same

Our gal uses external ldap and a . in search only return 3 addresses !!!

How do you have your 'LDAP filter' and 'Autocomplete filter' setup in the Admin console, under GAL Configuration?
