Default Allow all Images ....

Is there a way to do this always from specified sources? IOW ... in my RSS feeds for Slashdot, always allow images from them rather than providing a link to enable them?

Regards,
Lonny

bug 10413

your not the first-it seems to be brought up every few months-and disappears again into obscurity

I believe bug 10472 must be a private bug. When you create a bug there is a box that says "Make bug visible only to reporter and Zimbra". If the bug creator checks this box no one except that person and the Zimbra folks can see the bug and it won't show up in searches. Doesn't seem right that RFE's like this are marked as private, since others can't find and/or vote for them, but hey, that's just my opinion and I don't make the rules.

The usual reason that bugs are marked as private is that there is sensitive information that the reporter deems should not be publicly visible.

The bug 10472 has a target release of GunsNRoses, if that helps.

I understand the need to protect sensitive information, but in the case of an RFE you can't direct anyone to vote for it if it is marked as private. Tough to get something bumped up in the queue like this. Also, it results in more duplicate bugs being filed because people can't find things when searching Bugzilla.

Well, your comments are correct as far as they go. In this case there's nothing particularly sensitive that I can see in that RFE but in general if a company files an RFE that contains information about their company/business/strategy they may want it kept away from public view. There are some RFEs with just those attributes in bugzilla, what would you expect where company confidential information is involved? There are ways around it but that's up to the bug reviewers to set and/or change.

There are often duplicates filed because the initial search doesn't turn-up a match (I've done it myself) and again that's for the bug reviewers to correct.

Default Sorry :)

Bill is correct, there's nothing private in the bug.
If a customer has a comment on a bug, we typically don't display that in the bug. . .which is the case in here. . . but the entire bug got marked as private instead of the comment. I've fixed that and I've opened the bug to the public.

Thanks for bringing our attention to it!!

Thanks guys! I wasn't really complaining; just trying to point out what I see as a "flaw" in the bugzilla process. I definitely understand the importance of protecting sensitive customer data, and the need to have the option to create a private bug. However, there's nothing to prevent someone from creating a private bug even when there is no sensitive data involved. When this happens the rest of the community doesn't benefit from knowing about these bugs/RFE's. I don't really know if there is a solution to this issue.

Anyway, I think I've beaten this horse dead. Thanks again.
