[SOLVED] detach on dbl click

Detach button is great... Better would be if you could optionally allow a double click to detach the message. I use the preview pane and would like to single click a message to preview it, but if I double click, would like to open in new window. Is this a RFE or has this already been addressed?

Go ahead and fill out an request for enhancement located in the bugzilla.

However, 5.0 will include a button to detach a message.

is there any difference in filling out a bug request and an RFE in bugzilla? I don't see anythingn where I can indicate it's an enhancement.

They both go into bugzilla, just change the severity to enhancement.

I want this feature too!!! It is a pain to read emails in Zimbra...but my company forces me to use it. If I could double click and it would detach, my days would be so much happier.

Welcome to the forums,

There are a multitude of reasons a company might require the web-client only. For instance, they might not enable IMAP/POP so they don't have to support thick-clients; thereby simplifying testing, documentation, & training time, etc, etc.

The double-click to detach feature discussed in this thread has been implemented for v5:


This was done per Bug 1058 - Double clicking on the mail should open the message in a NEW window

Forgot to mention -
When you check that box, besides the action a double mouse click takes, the functionality of the 'enter' and 'o' key on your keyboard changes to detach things (unless your opening a thread in conversation view then 'o' is different).
