Would just like to say this works quite well! I have just tried it out.

You have to go to the homepage of the WebCompose Author as opposed to downloading from the Firefox extensions page if you use Firefox 1.5+.

After that, entering my details in the Preferences on the Extensions window in Firefox I added my Zimbra server addresss in the other section like this:

http://zimbraserver/zimbra/mail?view=compose&to=^T&

Rudimentary I know but it kind of works!

Now, how would I get it to accept my username and password without it forcing me to log in to Zimbra first?
Also, If you are logged in then clicking on a mail ink on a webpage opens a seperate Firefox window from the main Zimbra window (already open and logged in) and shows the To: address correctly.
How could I get Zimbra to read this as a request to open the compose page in the existing window as it woudl normally do if you clicked to compose within Zimbra?

This will be a great feature if it works properly and would be another complaint from our many Outlook users out of the way!

Russ

You search the forums or google for something like this if you using the OSS version. If you mean the NE version of Zimbra then you need the Outlook Connector.

I had thunderbird installed and didn't want to uninstall it yet so I went to:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Thunderbird.Url.mailto\shell\ope n\command
and set it to:
C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe http://zimbra.ncsa.uiuc.edu/zimbra/mail?view=compose

and that worked. Strange tho', I was logged in to my zimbra account in another tab, but the new tab that launched asked me to login.

I have Zimbra running as a Google Chrome App. and have its location + the example above set as the application to use for the 'open' URL:MailTo Protocol action.

Works great, except I don't know how to pass the email address from the link "mailto:user@foo.com" into the URL string:
/zimbra/mail?view=compose&to=user@foo.com

Anybody know how to do this?

Talking run ZCS with Firefox on XP

Hello everybody, sorry for my English.
To run ZCS with Firefox on XP You then set HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\mailto\shell\open\command (defines the default MailTo handler for your

system) to the launch exe with the next value data:

C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe http://ZCS Server/zimbra/mail?&view=compose&to="%1"

It's working fine for me.
Thanks
