Default RSS reader downloads duplicates?

Hi guys.

I like the reader functionality, but it appears to be downloading duplicates...specifically from any feed from http://artima.com/buzz

Is there something special about the Artima feeds that cause Zimbra problems? I subscribe to the Java, Ruby and Agile feeds, but each time I choose "Load feed" I get duplicates (i.e., ones that have already been downloaded).

Thanks,
Jbwiv

Default Please file this in bugzilla

There's a bunch of logic to avoid inserting duplicates into the folder. However, if the RSS/ATOM feed doesn't keep a consistent date on the feed entries but instead sets them to the current date each time, they'll appear as new items on each fetch.

Can you open a bug in bugzilla and include the URLs of some feeds that cause duplicates to appear?

Default Bad feed. No biscuit.

Resolution: Those feeds have no date/pubDate or guid attached to their items, so there's no way to tell if an item is new or not. It's worth asking the feed source if they'll add a date/pubDate to each <item>.
