    Default External IMAP Account into Zimbra Inbox

    Hi guys,

    I sucessfully installed zimbra on my server, but now I stuck with the external account feature of zcs. My goal is to use my existing account as external imap account for zimbra. Ideally I want to load the mails from the external account into my zimbra's inbox.
    But I can only choose the option to save the mails into a new folder. There is an option to save them into the zimbra inbox but this option cannot be choosen.
    Is the external account feature not intended to allow saving messages into zcs inbox?

    Thanks for any idea how to achieve that

    tobi

    there's that filtering option under preferences, you might want to check there

    Maybe I do not fully understand but the filters would afaik not help :-) I want the zimbra (webmail) to act like a imap client that gets mails from my external server and put them with the structure of folders into the local folders of zcs. If I would use filtering then I would have to manually create the folder structure from my external server in my local zcs folders and have the rules to put the mails into the correct folder. But that means I need a rule per external folder, which is not what I want.
    Is it not possible to save the external contents to my local zcs folders? Especially I want that the mails from external inbox end in the inbox of my local zcs account. At the moment the external mails end up in a subfolder which then contains the external folder structure

    I see...I did saw that in Preferences -> Accounts, adding external account have an option to save to main Inbox folder on ZWC, but only for POP, not IMAP. At least on ZCS 7.2.4

    ah that would explain why the option exists but is not chosable for IMAP. I only tried IMAP and never POP3.
    Is there a technical reason why external IMAPs cannot save to zcs inbox? I have zcs 8.0.5 (OpenSource edition) running.
    @developers
    would it be possible to add this functionality in future versions of zimbra?
