Question downloading email with folders into MS Outlook

    Hello,
I'm sorry to post such a basic question, but after quite a bit of online searching I haven't been able to find a simple answer:
My previous employer uses Zimbra for webmail, and I have several years'-worth of accumulated emails and email folders there. My account there is about to close and I need to import all of that into my MacBook Air, where I have Outlook 2011 installed. I have received the inbox content quiet easily by setting up an account to read the emails from the server, but I don't know how to import all the folders.
It seems that the Zimbra Connector for Outlook should be able to do something like this, although it's not clear to me:
    (1) how
    (2) where to download it.
    Thanks!

If you're using an IMAP connection then do the folders not show up when you try to Subscribe (that's an IMAP feature of the client) to them?

The ZCO is a Network Edition feature, if you are connected to an NE server then you'd have to ask the Administrator for the location of the file.

Thanks Bill. I should have mentioned that I want this account to be POP because I want to download everything from the server once and have it permanently on my Outlook, folders and all.
Is there a way to do this?
    Thanks!

    Not with POP, I'm afraid.

Thanks. Do you mean that with IMAP I can download it permanently to my computer? I thought that's what IMAP doesn't do...
Any other possible solution to import all my zimbra folders to my laptop? Thanks!

That depends on whether you've set it to show headers or download the mail.

There's always Zimbra Desktop it also has a backup/restore function but not any export function to other mail clients, that should download everything from the Zimbra server. Unfortunately what you're asking isn't what fat clients are for, the usual scenario is to leave the mail on the server. If you do use IMAP to get your mail once it's downloaded you could always just remove any mail from the server by deleting it (or the folders) then emptying the Trash folder, that will delete it.

If I delete the folders and emails from the server, won't it then be deleted by the IMAP account on my laptop as well (i.e. disappear from the Outlook if I send/receive)? So sorry, I have zero experience with IMAP!

Yes it would but I was assuming you'd delete them via the Web UI when you've finished with the account (i.e. downloaded everything you need) and obviously you don't want to have any mail client connected at that time.
