Default How private is my account given by my company

I got a zimbra email address and password from my company. So, this means my company has access to my account? I can change the password myself, but can my company still access my account? If I add my other email accounts (gmail, hotmail) to Zimbra, are they also accessible, because you need just the zimbra account to login?

That's a question you should address to your employer. I'm guessing this is a work account not a 'private' account, if that's the case then why are you even considering it to be 'private'?

If you mean are they accessible by your company then the answer is no they're not. These accounts require you to have configured the when you installed Zimbra Desktop and that included the username and password. The data from these accounts is held on your computer and the mail servers that hold your account.

    ok.
One more question. It is about the web client. If I changed my password, does my company knows my password or do they have access to my work mail only. Because if they know my password, they can access to my other emails (from other mail clients) using the zimbra web client.

Nobody will know your password but usually a mail server administrator has access to all the mailboxes (without a password) if necessary but there are usually company policies that exclude this.

No, they can't access anything on your other accounts via Zimbra Desktop but you're not really going to tell me that you use the same password for multiple email accounts, are you? That's not good security practice.

Your concern about this is out of all proportion, do you realise that by using gmail you've given them access to all your data? Did you read the terms & conditions of using gmail or any other free email servers before you started usin them? If this is of any interest you can search the internet for details about privacy concerns.

Sorry. I didn't mean I gave them my password. I wanted to know if they can know my password after I change it, because I was given the zimbra email address and the password by my company. So, I thought they might know the new password too. Therefore, I was worried about adding my other emails to that zimbra account because I usually use zimbra web client, and in web client, if you know the password for zimbra mail, you can login and see emails from other added email clients.

So, that was the misunderstanding. My question was for specific to zimbra web client than the desktop client.

    Thank you.
