Lightbulb About the shared folders...

Hi there !

I'm looking for a new solution for mails (imap)/calendar(for collaboration aims), and Zimbra looks quiet good.

Then I tested the zimbra suite for 2 weeks... (The Open Source version)
First impressions : Zimbra is quite simple to install/update and I like the admin interface. The user interface is ok even if I think it would be nice to see a mail in a new Window (not a preview panel like...)
Besides I found on this forum the imapsync script that will make easier a futur migration.

But with the actual OpenSource version I don't find some features and I just want to know if these features will be available in the next zimbra open source version (and when they will be out ?) :
- imap shared folders / with subscriptions
- possibilities to use several identities (one mail account but the possibility to change the "from" of your sent emails)

This is all I need to use Zimbra in my Company !!
Any answers will be greatly appreciated.
Excuse my poor english level
Erwan

Welcome to the forums.

Share folders & Mail Identities will be out in the version 4.5 of Zimbra - that will be available around the 3rd week of January or the OSS version is available now as RC2 if you want to test it.

sorry I'm back and I'm not alone, I have some questions with me

I installed the 4.5.0_RC2 Zimbra version. I had no problem to update the version that I had before.
Then I looked for the options that I told earlier : identities and imap shared folders

For the identities, I found where they are.

But I did'nt find where I can set up the imap shared folder...
Any clue ?
Any answers will be greatly appreciated.

I'm afraid I owe you an apology for this. I misunderstood what you were after with shared folders. If it's IMAP shared folders you're after (I'm assuming you mean with the web ui) then it's targeted for the next major release. Have a look at this bugzilla entry and add your vote to the already long list. If you want the shared folders through an imap client the it's this bug you want.

Shared Folders and Shared Documents are two different things. The ability to share a document is already in the 4.x & 4.5 versions of Zimbra if that's what you're after.
