Default Zimbra Calendar showing wrong time.- Summer time

    Hi Sirs,
I'm a new Zimbra user and I'm so exciting.

But I'm having a problem at the calendar.
When I create an appointment after the summer time (Feb 17th in Brazil) the calendar shows the appointment one hour before, but If I create before (Feb 16th) shows to me correctly.

Are there anybody that could help me ?

    Thanks in Advanced

Please file a bug at bugzilla.zimbra.com.

    Same here

Zimbra should provide an easier way to control daylight savings start and end.

Appointments created BEFORE February, 17th (daylight savings END in Brazil) are correctly displayed in the calendar view. The appointment matches the pop-up when hover the mouse over it and its position corresponds to what was entered when creating the appointment.

Appointments created BETWEEN February, 17th and 25th, not including these 2 days, are not correctly displayed. If you double-click to add an appointment at 09am the event will be placed at 08am in the calendar view even though the pop-up information is correct.

Beginning at February, 25th, all is back to normal.

So it is probably Zimbra thinking daylight savings in Brazil ends at February, 24th, midnight.

Now, as far as i searched, there´s no easy way to change it. Looks like it´s better to wait.

Shame...this would be an obvious addition to the product.

    The workaround is:

    Edit /opt/zimbra/conf/timezones.ics

    Look for Sao_Paulo

    At the block

    BEGIN:STANDARD
    TZNAME:BRT
    DTSTART:19710101T000000
    TZOFFSETTO:-0300
    TZOFFSETFROM:-0200
    RRULE:FREQ=YEARLY;WKST=MO;INTERVAL=1;BYMONTH=2;BYD AY=-1SU
    END:STANDARD

    Change the line

    Code:
    RRULE:FREQ=YEARLY;WKST=MO;INTERVAL=1;BYMONTH=2;BYDAY=-1SU
    To

    Code:
    RRULE:FREQ=YEARLY;WKST=MO;INTERVAL=1;BYMONTH=2;BYDAY=3SU
    And restart mailboxd (zmmailboxdctl restart)

Drawback is that existing appointments will remain wrong. But new ones will display ok and daylight savings will be correctly setup for the future.

I believe that line change should not have touched the BYMONTH parameter ... The change to the BYDAY looks right. Also note that the space in the "BYD AY" is a display glitch - not an intentional addition of a space.

    Change the line

    Code:
    RRULE:FREQ=YEARLY;WKST=MO;INTERVAL=1;BYMONTH=2;BYDAY=-1SU
    To

    Code:
    RRULE:FREQ=YEARLY;WKST=MO;INTERVAL=1;BYMONTH=2;BYDAY=3SU
It should remain 2 (February) - and looking at timeanddate.com for Brazil it seems that the timing of the change jumps around - sometimes the 3rd Sunday/sometimes the 4th - so it does not look like a general rule will work for more than a few years at a time.

Nice catch. My bad. Corrected. The glitch with "BYDAY" still there though.

And for the timezone, recently there were regulation changes and start and end should remain the same...should, they´re government. You never know.

IMPORTANT: THERE IS NO SPACE IN "BYDAY" ABOVE. IT IS A DISPLAY GLITCH.

Secret for that is to wrap CODE tags around the line as I did - that way it will not mess with the text
