Default Calendar, Mac FF, daylight savings time: Weird

Hello,

We have a Mac user running FF 1.5.0.8 and attaching to Zimbra NE 4.03. When she tries to create an appointment on March 28, 2007 at 10:00 AM, it appears as 11:00 AM on the Weekly (or any other ) calendar view, but the appointment shows correctly at 10:00 AM when it is opened. Here are some of the parameters we've discovered.

This does not occur for FF on a Windows system.

The problem seems related to the change in when Daylight Savings Time will occur in the US. Appointments before March 11 or after April 1 are ok. However, appointments in between (which will be DST for 2007 but were not for 2006) are off by an hour.

Zimbra correctly indicates the appointment time zone is US/Pacific. When the calendar is viewed from iCal, the time zone is given as "America/Dawson".

Anyone else seeing this? Is it fixed in 4.04 or 4.5? Should I file this in Bugzilla? Thanks.

It's already filed in bugzilla, IIRC. I can't remember offhand which version it's fixed in but the bug report will tell you.

Hello Bill,

I can't find it in Bugzilla. There were some issues around the change from DST in October 2006, but I couldn't find anything addressing a problem around the change to DST in March 2007. The closest somewhat related bug 11098 is about importing .mac calendars being off by an hour, and this being related to DST change. The problem is unresolved and targeted for Franklin. My problem involves calendars created in Zimbra, but needs to be fixed before March 2007.

I've confirmed the problem on a different Mac. Would someone try this on a Mac and let me know if they observe it with other Zimbra releases? Please? Thanks.

We are having similar issues - clients using FF 2.002 on OS X 10.4 (updated to latest) and server is at 4.5.3.

Events in the calendar are showing up as an hour later when set in between March 11 and April 1.

Our default timezone is showing up as "America/Chihuahua" in the "more details" screen when adding an event - even though all settings on the server have us at "America/Denver".

Strange things - most likely will not be an issue after April 1.
