    Default How to set up calendars in 8.0

    Hello,
    I've got 8.0 demo installed and seems to be working fine with about 30 accounts. I need some instruction on how to set up multiple calendars. Can anybody refer me to that ?

    Hello, thank you for reading my post.

    I need to create an enterprise-wide "global" calendar to show resource availability and company-wide meetings.
    I then need to create several sub-calendars that are only shared by groups within the enterprise and are only
    readable by members of each group.

    I need to control access so that only certain privileged users can create meetings and invite participatants.

    I'm not sure where to begin with this so any help would be greatly appreciated.

    This is similar to what I am looking for. We are evaluating 2 mail packages including Zimbra and this shared/global calendar solution is a deal-breaker if we can't set it up like we need. Can anyone shed some light on the subject?

    Creating and sharing Calendars:
    1) create users and make sure they have "Sharing" enabled in their account privileges.
    2) each user is given on personal calendar to start with and can create an arbitrary number of additional calendars.
    3) each user can decide to share each of their calendars: with other users, groups and full public, with viewer, manager or administrative privileges.

    I created a separate user to own the enterprise-wide scheduling calendars and then shared them out with executives that needed the privilege to
    create events and with the viewing public.

    It seems to work great. Read the manual!
