Bump I need this before we can roll out the changes. I don't want to spend my time creating a demo that could easily be hosted by vmware.

Apparently, updating the hosted demo (which buyers rely upon to test the product) is too much of a challenge for VMWare... as is responding to forum posts!

Sorry for the delay in responding to this post. We are currently in the process of updating the host that runs the Hosted Demo. While it's currently only running ZCS 7, it will soon be upgraded to a new host and upgraded to 8.0. Again, we apologize for the inconvenience and please check back again soon.

Thank you for the helpful reply, it's appreciated.

However, 7 weeks for a reply - including 3 forum posts, 2 email messages, and 2 twitter messages - is unacceptable from VMWare Zimbra.
Indeed, releasing a commercial product such as Zimbra 8 without getting something this basic sorted beforehand, let-alone 10 weeks later, is unprofessional and hardly instills confidence for VMWare's prospective purchasers. It seems vaguely ridiculous - particularly given that VMWare Zimbra has sent media releases around the world telling existing and prospective customers to rush to the website to find out more - saying how many millions have installed Zimbra, how well supported it is, and - most ironically - how easy it is to install.

Ah well, the product's still worth it, and I know that people at Zimbra, and community contributors, have worked extremely hard to make it such an excellent resource. Communication has been been better of recent, if somewhat patchy. I hope that this will continue to improve.

Any updates on this? When I try the Demo, it's not even working now. I get a 500 Error/NPE after the validation page, two emails to feedback have not produced a reply yet.

    We await patiently.

However, Zimbra 8 was released 3 months ago.

I reiterate: it's a little hard to imagine that Zimbra installation is as simple as claimed by Vmware, when the company itself can't update its demo server in over 3 months! :s

Currently, even the Zimbra 7 test server isn't working. Ouch.

Fortunately, no need to wait for Zimbra (unless you have a spare century or two or are delusionally pragmatic

Thinkfree have posted a demo, which showcases their Thinkfree Zimlet add-on:
ThinkFree Office | Zimbra :: Gallery

The Zimbra 8 demo from Thinkfree is accessible from that page to.

Ah, come now, I think we are getting a little harsh, Vmware are just a small business, with only a few million or more customers, and small profits of only millions or more, and it's only been 6 months.
