turn off reading pane by default?

Hi,

I don't want the reading pane. So I turn it off. Next time I log in, it's back on. Where can I make this a permanent choice?

There is a link to bugzilla on the main forum page. That's the first place to go when you think you see a bug you'd like fixed or a feature you'd like implemented -- odds are someone's thought of it already and we're already tracking it.

For instance, reading pane on/off preference is bug 6221, fixed in version 4.5.
