Thumbs up Briefcase ala Google Docs ?

H Guys

Brand new Zimbra NE user. Busy deploying on our 100 user network. So far, navigating my way through the features, trying to visualize how best to use on our network.

One feature I'd really like to suggest, which I don't think is currently available, is an online spreadsheet/excel editor similar to google Docs. I have noticed there is a text editor, but no spreadsheet. Something where my users can enter their comments, and just save it over the same file, without having to download/upload.

Many Thanks!
Zakaria

This sort of enhancement request goes in bugzilla as an RFE, make sure you search first to see if there's already an entry and vote on any RFEs or bug reports you find.

In fact, Zimbra did have more extensive document editing, but the spreadsheet & presentation functionality was removed in ZCS 7. There is still an RFE partially covering this functionality: Bug 41868 – Convert (import/export) from popular document formats to edit via Zimbra AJAX editors

But since that RFE only pertains to conversion and not creation/editing, it's probably an artifact of the old functionality.

If you do create a new RFE, post the bug number in this thread.

Just an insight...

I prefer a robust Zimbra product fully functionally in features already supply instead of mimicking others, focusing in mail, messaging, calendaring, managing contacts and of course providing integration with social features demanded today.

BTW, think it's was the roots of this product and using best of the OSS breed.

Regards.
